Children Programs
Children’s Director, Barbara Weldon
Our Children’s Church Program continues to be a big part of our children’s ministry here at Parksville Baptist Church. Our children's church program has grown from an average of 15 children in Oct to an average of 25 in November and December. I have heard some very positive comments from the teachers and parents. The teachers love the children and the children have come to love the teachers and all the children's church activities. It's amazing how excited they get when they are dismissed from the "big" church to go to children's church. I am looking forward to an amazing growth and a contagious excitement in the coming months. Children’s church is provided each Sunday during worship service from 10-11am.
We are planning a weekend trip with the children and their families to Lure Lodge in Jamestown, Kentucky on March 19-20th. Families can come early on Friday and swim or fish with their children with everyone meeting for dinner at Lure Lodge at 6:30pm. On Saturday morning everyone will meet to eat breakfast and prayer then off to a hike on one of the trails. Hopefully, the weather will be nice and we will have a fun time for all our families. There will be a slot of rooms reserved for our church but you will have to call and make reservations yourself. The number to call is 800-325-1709. The rate will be $45 plus tax. Just tell the lodge that you want to make reservations with the Parksville Baptist Church. The Children are working on a Easter Program on Wednesday nights. All children ages K-5th grade are encouraged to attend Wednesday nights and be a part of the Easter program. More info to come on this program.

Parksville Youth Group ready to visit Kentucky Kingdom—Six Flags in
Louisville!
WOW, what fun activities we have had at Parksville Baptist in the last 3 months! Man, we have been busy! In October we had a fantastic weekend with the college students from the University of the Cumberland’s. They led in our morning worship service and done such a great job. Our youth were involved with a skit, the band was terrific and the young man brought a very touching message. The entire weekend was devoted to witnessing.
Speaking of witnessing, our youth are at work visiting and witnessing. Our youth attendance is growing. Our average this month on Wednesday nights has been, 21. That’s our youth at work.
The Holidays are great but they do tend to wear us out! Our youth were busy with our Christmas play practices and in between we took time to go bowling. Our church was so proud of everyone involved with our Christmas program, especially our youth. I must say our youngsters stole our show and our hearts. Great job everyone!
Our youth are ready for the New Year. Our youth are looking to help in many ways with our (GAP) “Souper Bowl Food Drive”. Our goal at Parksville Baptist Church is 2100 items. Our youth are going to collect and help count our items. We have a competition in the works between our men and women. I hope our youth will help referee these grown-ups. Thank you to our working youth. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
In addition, we are planning on learning a new interp to present to the church in a few weeks. I can’t wait. Remember that we meet on Sunday mornings at 9am; Sunday nights at 5:30pm and Wednesday nights at 7pm. I am proud that our youth continue to make weekly contacts and our Sunday attendance is averaging about 14 and our Wednesday night average is about 21. Thank God and determined youth! We hope to see YOU soon.
